The vinaigrette is a classic when it comes to preparing salads. The most basic ingredients are oil, vinegar and salt, although pepper also adds a delicious touch.
There are a thousand different versions and other ingredients can be used such as sweeteners, herbs, mustard, garlic, onion, chives, among others. They are not essential ingredients, but they add flavor and I invite you to make your own combinations.

Ingredientes básicos:
- 3/4 taza de aceite de oliva virgen extra (190 ml)
- 1/4 taza de vinagre (65 ml), yo usé vinagre balsámico
- 1/2 cucharadita de sal
- 1/8 cucharadita de pimienta negra molida
Opcionales:
- 2 dientes de ajo, muy troceados
- 1 cucharada de mostaza de Dijon
- 1 cucharada de sirope de arce
- 2 cucharaditas de condimento italiano o de cualquier otra hierba seca
Instructions
- Put all the ingredients in an airtight jar , close and shake until well combined.
- You can use the vinaigrette directly or store it in the fridge in an airtight jar or container for 1-2 weeks. Shake the jar before using the vinaigrette.
Notes
- You can use any dried herb (oregano, basil, rosemary, etc.) or spice you like.
- If the vinaigrette solidifies, this is normal. It’s because of the oil. Leave the jar at room temperature for a while until melted and stir before using.
