Today I want to share with you a totally different recipe. It’s been a while since I published a dessert on the blog, so this week I’ve decided to make vegan chocolate flans.
Ingredients
- 850 ml. of oat milk (or other vegetable milk)
- 100 gr. of sugar
- 80 gr. of vegan milk chocolate (or black)
- 10 gr. of cocoa
- 4 gr. of agar-agar
- For the candy:
- 100 gr. of sugar
- ½ glass of hot water
Preparation
- Reserve a finger of non-dairy milk in a small glass and put it to cool in the fridge.< /li>
- In a small saucepan, heat the non-dairy milk with the chocolate cut into pieces, the cocoa and the sugar. We stir from time to time with a few rods to help the chocolate melt and that all the ingredients are well integrated into the liquid.
- When our mixture for the custards start to boil, we dissolve the agar-agar in the vegetable milk that we have reserved in the fridge. Once the agar-agar is dissolved, add it to the pot, mix well with the rod and let it boil for a couple of minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let cool a bit. If we pour the mixture into the flan pans now, we could burn ourselves.
- Meanwhile, we prepare the caramel. In a thick-bottomed saucepan, heat the sugar with 2 tablespoons of water. The sugar will dissolve in the water and begin to color. When the sugar begins to have a golden color, add the hot water little by little, stirring every time we add a little water. Be careful, it splashes!
- When the water and sugar are well integrated, pour the caramel into the flan pans and pour the chocolate flan mixture on top. Let cool in the fridge for a couple of hours or until we see that the flan is well curdled.
