Textured bean and soy protein burger

Very good to all! Today I come with an improvised recipe: a vegan protein burger made from red beans and textured soybeans, as well as some other vegetables. As you can imagine, it is a very tasty recipe. economical and that in addition to a batch you can get a lot of buger. With this recipe you get 6 large hamburgers.

The fact of having beans and textured soybeans as a base, in addition to making it a recipe rich in vegetable protein, also makes it very easy to work with due to its density. If you are beginners, this and any burger chickpea-based can be a good introductionto homemade burgers.

400 gr pinto beans

1 onion

1/2 red pepper

< p>4 mushrooms

1/2 bowl textured soybeans

Olive oil

Soy sauce

Panko (optional)

Smoked paprika

Black pepper

Spicy paprika

Garlic in grain

Step by step

  1. We will start by hydrating 1/2 bowl of textured soy by submerging it in warm or hot water.
  2. Sautéing in a frying pan with olive oil, 1 onion, 1/2 red pepper and  the 4 mushrooms. As finely chopped as possible so that it integrates better into the burgers.
  3. When it is well sautéed, add it to a bowl and mix it with the cooked beans. Crush well with a fork.
  4. Season with a touch of garlic grains, hot paprika, smoked paprika and a lot of curry.
  5. Add the textured soy and a dash of soy sauce, and mix well.
  6. Now, we have a plate with breadcrumbs mixed with panko.
  7. Bound a piece of dough and shape it into a hamburger. Try to press the dough well so that it maintains a good texture.
  8. Pass the breadcrumbs, round and round, and again press the burger well from above, below and on the sides. Watch the video above if you need more help.
  9. We repeat the process with all the dough and freeze them for 10 minutes, to help make the dough denser and easier to sauté. The hamburgers that you are not going to eat can be left in the freezer.
  10. We sauté them back and forth in the pan with olive oil and that’s it!
