This mustard seitan recipe can also be made with natural seitan, but I recommend using smoked seitan because it combines very, very well with mustard. I hope you like it and you know that if prepare at home, I’d love it if you show me a photo of the result.
- 250 gr. of smoked seitan
- 250 ml. of natural oat drink
- 50 ml. of water
- ½ onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 generous cp of mustard
- Salt and pepper
- Fresh Chives
- We fillet the seitan piece. The thickness of the fillets will be to taste, although I recommend not cutting them very thin.
- Peel and cut the onion into small squares. Peel the garlic and crush them a bit with the help of the blade of the knife.
- Heat a pot and add a little oil, lightly fry the seitan fillets 1 or 2 minutes on each side. Seitan tends to stick to the pot, so I recommend that it not be too thin, so it doesn’t break. Remove the seitan fillets and reserve them.
- Put a little more oil in the pan if necessary and add the onion and garlic. Let the onion and garlic fry over low heat.
- When the onion is golden, add the oatmeal drink, water and mustard. Stir to dilute the mustard and add the seitan fillets. Bring to a boil, cover and let cook for 10 minutes.
