Many of you have asked us for recipes to strengthen the immune system and prevent colds now that bad weather is approaching and since I discovered them I am in love with shots, but not the ones that contain alcohol, but the ones made with fruits and vegetables.

Ginger and lemon are my favorite ingredients to make shots, especially ginger, I love it! This time I have added carrots to make them taste sweeter and because they are high in beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A, which in turn is essential for a strong immune system.

  • 1 limón
  • 3 zanahorias
  • 1 trozo de jengibre fresco (unos 4 cm)
  • Polvo de cayena al gusto (opcional)

  1. Peel and chop the ingredients and add them a little little by little in the juice extractor.
  2. You can pour the juice into the shot glasses directly, but I prefer to strain it.
  3. Add the cayenne powder to taste.

  • If you use organic carrot and ginger, you don’t need to peel them. I always like to peel the lemon to make juice because the white part of the skin makes it much more bitter.
  • We use fresh ginger, but if you want you can also use powdered ginger. I couldn’t tell you the exact amount, add it little by little until it is to your liking (it has to have a strong flavor).
  • You can use cayenne powder or finely chopped cayenne peppers (ideally, use a coffee grinder or blender to make it as fine as possible). If you don’t like spicy, you can eliminate this ingredient, although it is perfect for cleaning mucus from the nostrils and throat.
