This Sesame Garlic Broccoli only needs 6 ingredients. It’s vibrant with blanched broccoli and delicious with a simple sesame oil and garlic vinaigrette. A perfect site. Gluten free and nut free vegan recipe. Soy-free variant
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add a generous pinch of salt. Add the broccoli and cook for 3-5 minutes (depending on the size of the florets and the amount of florets in the water).
As soon as the broccoli is green, remove from the heat, drain and wash in cold water.
In a pan, heat oil over medium-low heat. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and reduce the heat to low. Mix well and cook until garlic is golden. 4 to 5 minutes. (Slow cooking roasts the garlic without burning it).
Add the sesame seeds and sesame oil and continue cooking until the seeds start to swell Change color.
Add soy sauce and red pepper flakes and mix well for a few seconds. Add a tablespoon of water and stir and remove from heat.
Sprinkle or add the broccoli to the pan and mix well. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
