Seitan skewers with mild spices


  1. About 250g seitan (I used GranoVita Mock Duck which comes in a 285g tin)
  2. 1 -2 peppers
  3. A handful of coriander leaves
  4. 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  5. 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  6. 1 teaspoon maple syrup
  7. 1 teaspoon of rice vinegar or similar
  8. 1 teaspoon of sesame
  9. Skewers


  1. If using bamboo skewers, dip them in water to soak them so they don’t burn
  2. Chop the seitan in half 1/2 cm thick pieces – don’t worry too much about the evenness
  3. Chop the chilies and coriander leaves
  4. Add the seitan, chilies, coriander and ginger in a bowl
  5. Add the liquid ingredients and sesame seeds
  6. Mix well and let stand for 15-20 minutes
  7. Put the desired portion size on skewers
  8. Spoon the remaining mixture over skewers
  9. Grill & eat!
