Although fruit and nuts are the snacks that I usually consume mid-morning and for an afternoon snack, from time to time I like to vary a little and make something more special, such as these plantain chips.
Ingredientes
Scale
- 1 plátano macho, en rodajas
- 2 cucharaditas de aceite de oliva virgen extra
- 1/4 cucharadita de sal
- 1/8 cucharadita de pimienta negra molida
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190ºC or 375ºF.
- Put the banana slices in a bowl along with the oil and stir until well combined.
- Place the banana slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25 minutes on one side. Flip and bake 5-10 minutes more or until golden brown.
- Remove the chips from the oven, transfer to a plate or bowl and add the salt and Pepper. Stir to mix well.
- You can have the chips hot or cold and eat them as they are or with your favorite sauce. I love them with guacamole.
- They are better freshly made, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for about 3 days.
Notes
- You have to use plantains, regular plantains won’t work.
- Add your favorite spices and herbs.
