promise you, this marinated tofu will completely change your opinion of tofu! It is one of my favorite tofu recipes, as it is extremely easy to prepare and very tasty, as well as a very good source of complete vegetable protein.

  • 340 g de tofu firme (12 oz)
  • 1/4 taza de agua (60 ml)
  • 2 cucharadas de salsa de soja o tamari
  • 1 cucharada de vinagre de manzana
  • 1 cucharada de sirope de arce
  • 1 cucharadita de ajo en polvo
  • 1/8 cucharadita de cayena en polvo
  • 1 cucharadita de maicena
  • 1 cucharada de aceite de oliva virgen extra


  1. Cut the tofu into cubes.
  2. Put the marinade ingredients in a container or bowl (water, tamari or soy sauce, vinegar, syrup, garlic powder and cayenne), stir and add the tofu. Cover and let marinate for at least 15 minutes in the fridge. The longer you leave it, the more flavor it will have.
  3. Strain the tofu but save the liquid.
  4. Pour the oil into a pan and sauté the marinated tofu until golden brown.
  5. In a bowl add the marinade liquid with the cornstarch and mix until well integrated .
  6. Pour the sauce into the pan with the tofu and cook over medium-high heat until the sauce thickens.
  7. Serve your marinated tofu and accompany it with dishes such as vegetable cream, < a href="">gazpacho, mashed cauliflowerpumpkin cream or even salmorejo. Another option is the roasted carrots, the pisto< /a>, the baked broccoli or even a refreshing lentil-salad.
  8. You can store the marinated tofu in an airtight container in the fridge for about 4-5 days .
