Lentil burgers


  • 1 cup lentils
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 diced bell pepper
  • 2 large cloves of garlic
  • 1 large bay leaf
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chili ground


Soak the lentils for 8 hours, steam or boil them (I prefer steamed, add coarse salt to the water to taste) together with the garlic cloves and the bay leaf x 10 min approx (they have to be between tender and hard), once cooked, cut the cooking with cold water and leave the garlic with the lentils, remove only the bay leaf.

Aside, skip the onion along with the bell pepper, add salt and the golden point is to taste. Arrange the lentils together with the garlic, onion and bell pepper in the processor, add pepper and ground chili to taste, if necessary more salt. process (there should be a semi-dry paste, with a body similar to cold polenta to be able to handle it with your hands and make the hamburgers.

Make bowls that fit in the palm of your hand and shape them, seal with breadcrumbs and that’s it! Easy, fast and delicious!.
