A quick & easy way to make PERFECT kidney beans in the Instant Pot every time! Only one ingredient and one Instant Pot required!


  • 1 cup < span class ="wprm-recipe-ingredientname">Kidney beans
  • 3 ½ cups < span class="wprm- recipe-ingredient-name">water (orVegetable-broth for extra flavor)


  • Add kidney beans and water (or vegetable broth) to the Instant Pot and stir to prevent sticking. Pressure cook for 40-45 minutes (40 minutes for firmer, 45 for softer // it takes about 8 minutes for the Instant Pot to be pressurized before cooking begins).

  • Once the timer is up, release naturally for 15 minutes, then release any remaining pressure. Carefully remove the lid when all the steam has escaped and drain off excess cooking liquid.
  • To enjoy immediately in stews, soups, Chili, pasta, Salads or steamed or cracked greens. Store refrigerated leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or in the freezer for up to 1 month. Heat in a saucepan on the stove, adding a little water if necessary to prevent sticking.
