indian style fries


  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • Grated ginger
  • 4 potatoes cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup chili powder powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 handfuls of spinach


Heat the oil over medium heat. add the mustard seeds and fry until they start to pop (like popcorn). add the onion, garlic and ginger and fry for 5-7 minutes.

Add the potatoes, water, chili and salt and mix well. add a little more water, if necessary, to make a good sauce. reduce heat, cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, or until potatoes are cooked. stir occasionally.

When the potatoes are cooked, add the spinach. cover and cook for a few minutes until spinach wilts. serve.
