Very good to all! Today I bring a recipe that is not so designed for the day to day, as usually happens with my recipes. I bring you a recipe designed for picnics, snacks or meetings in which you want to offer a healthy and vegan snack to your guests: Hummus and roasted pepper tarts with a homemade, with a tender and crunchy texture and a delicious aroma of rosemary.

These tartlets have a homemade dough and I know that this is something that scares many of you because you think that making homemade dough is too difficult. You don’t have to worry because I bring you step-by-step photos , and you will see that you only have to mix the ingredients as I tell you. In addition, I measure it in soup spoons so that it is easier for you to make, and you do not have to weigh flour. 

Ingredients

4 tablespoons of wheat flour (+ reserve)
1/2 level tablespoon of baking powder
1 small teaspoon of salt
1/2 tablespoon of rosemary
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 and a half tablespoons of water
Hummus
*Recommended: baking paper

Step by step

  1. In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients: 4 tablespoons of wheat flour, 1/2 level tablespoon of powdered yeast, 1 small teaspoon of salt, 1/2 tablespoon of rosemary.

  2. Next, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix again.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon and a half of water, mix and knead with the spoon .
  4. When all the flour has adhered, remove to a clean surface.
  5. Flour the surface and the dough and shape it into a ball.
  6. The dough should be soft, pliable and should not lose pieces. If you lose flour or notice that it does not adhere well, add a little fat on it (olive oil) and knead. On the contrary, if you notice that it is too wet and sticks too much, sprinkle more flour on top of it and knead to correct.

  7. Stretch the ball and shape it into a churro.
  8. Cut the curro into slices of the same size (I made 6 slices)
  9. Give ball shape to each cut. Then, we take one and plunge a finger into the center. We give it the shape of a tartlet, pressing the inside to give it that “edge”. Look at the photo below.
  10. Place them on a baking tray with the baking paper on.
  11. Grease the tartlets well  bathing them in a little olive oil and put them in the oven, lit from below and above at 180 degrees. Leave them until golden brown and crispy, which will take about 20-25 minutes.
  12. Remove them from the oven, fill them with hummus in the center and a rolled strip of roasted pepper. And tartlets ready to eat!
