This recipe has become so famous that today we can already find packaged hummus in many Western supermarkets, including Spanish ones. I always think and say that I love living in a country with so much influence from other cultures.


  • 400 g cooked chickpeas
  • 70 ml of water
  • 50 ml of olive oil
  • 1 garlic
  • ½ lemon juice
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • ½ cp cumin
  • ½ cp of sweet paprika
  • ½ cp of salt
  1. Clean and drain the chickpeas. Peel the garlic and squeeze the half lemon.
  2. Put all the ingredients, except the paprika, in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Serve the hummus with some sweet paprika and a drizzle of olive oil on top.
