Very good to all! Today I come with a recipe that was the result of improvisation, but that I’ve been wanting to try for years… Because I haven’t stopped seeing it on social networks! I bring you the step by step to prepare Crispy Tofu with noodles in homemade sauce . I bring you my own version of these battered tofu fillets, which as you can see have a spectacular and crunchy appearance. Well, you’ll see when you try this spectacular flavor… Because it’s brutal!
have bought some of the ingredients that you will consider “rare” in this recipe at Cónsum. Although you do not have this supermarket nearby in your city, with this I want to tell you that they are not as difficult to find as you can imagine at first. I am going to tell you a little about each ingredient to serve as an indication:
Ingredients
For the Crispy Tofu
400 gr of firm Tofu (not soft tofu which has the texture of the fresh cheese, it has to be firm: I used the Vivera Bio brand, bought at Cónsum)
2 tsp. small chickpea flour
Panko for batter
Wheat flour
Soy sauce
1/3 cup of water p>
Curry powder
Cumin powder
Sweet paprika powder
Black salt
Sunflower oil p>
For the noodles
300 gr of wheat noodles
Soy sauce
Sweet paprika
1 small tsp peanut butter (100% peanut)
Step by step
For the Crispy Tofu
- Cut the 400 gr of tofu into thick fillets (a finger thick, approx).
- Optionally, we can cut the edges to give them an oval shape.
- Wrap them in a clean cloth and press gently to remove all the liquid
- We remove them from the damp cloth, wrap them again with another dry cloth and press lightly. Let them dry there for 10 minutes.

- With the fillets already dry, place them in a deep plate and cover with generous soy sauce, sweet paprika that slightly covers the surface (see the photos below), cumin that cover 1/3 of the fillet and curry that covers 1/4 of the fillet.
- With a spatula, distribute the spices well, which should be mixed with the soy sauce that we have put previously.
- Now, we turn it over and repeat the spice process.
- Let it macerate there for 30 minutes, giving it Turn every 5-8 minutes so that it hydrates well on both sides. If necessary, add more soy sauce.
We marinate the fillets of tofu in soy sauce and spices for flavor
- After half an hour, in a deep dish, mix 2 small teaspoons of chickpea flour, 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika with 1/3 cup of water and two pinches of black salt. Beat well and set aside.
- On the other hand, in another deep dish, mix generous panko with the same amount of wheat flour. We mix.
We prepare the egg substitute with chickpea flour
- Take the fillets, submerge them in the chickpea flour mixture on both sides.
- Now, we batter it round and round with the mixture of panko with wheat flour.
- Press lightly on both sides, to ensure that it adheres. Leave the fillet on a clean plate, resting.
- Repeat the process with all the tofu fillets that we have macerating.
- When all the fillets are battered, we return to the first battered fillet ( that the batter will already have something adhered and dry) and we submerge it lightly, quickly and on both sides, in the mixture of chickpea flour and water. We are going to give it a second batter.
- So after submerging it, we pass it through the panko + wheat flour again, making sure that it adheres well on all sides.
- We repeat the process with all the fillets and reserve them.
Dip in the egg substitute and coat the fillets
- In a non-stick pan, place 1 finger of sunflower oil and heat it over a high heat medium.
- When hot, keeping the stove at medium power, slightly low, and fry the Crispy Tofu by am both sides, until well toasted and crispy.
- AND READY! You already have your tofu fillets ready 🙂

For the noodles< /h3>- We will simply cook the 300 gr of noodles under the conditions indicated on the package, usually simply cook them in plenty of water.
- When we already have the cooked noodles, we leave them in the pot dry, and add generous soy sauce, 1 tsp sweet paprika and 1 tsp. of peanut butter.
- Keep over medium-low heat, mixing the sauce, paprika and peanut butter well, until it becomes a smooth sauce that the noodles have absorbed (there should be no liquid left remaining).
- And voila! Serve them with your tofu fillets 🙂
