Hello everybody! Today I have dared an easy vegan dessert, fast and surprising. I just moved in (from now on you’ll see a new kitchen, hehe) and I wanted to prepare something special, but one that was easy and didn’t dirty too many dishes… I still don’t know where I have my things! Hahaha.
So today I’m going to show you how to prepare a coconut and chocolate flan, without gelatin and without eggs. The good thing about this dish is that it costs the same to make for 2 as it does for 10 It’s just as quick and easy.
Ingredients
1 cup of coconut milk (not canned, brick)
1 teaspoon of agar agar powder (the spoon has to be coffee, not dessert, that is, the smallest)
1/4 cup of agave syrup
4 teaspoons of soluble cocoa
< p>3 tsp liquid vanilla
Optional: chocolate chips, chocolate syrup…
Step by step
- In a pot, pour 1 cup of coconut milk and turn the heat to low and heat gently.
- Add 1/4 cup of agave syrup and the 3 teaspoons of liquid vanilla and stir with a whisk.
- When the milk is already somewhat hot, before boiling, add 1 level teaspoon of agar agar powder (remember, the spoon has to be the smallest, the coffee one, not the dessert one).
- We maintain a gentle boil without stopping stirring. We keep the boiling for 2 minutes, so that the agar agar is activated. It is important to add the agar-agar hot for it to work, if you add it cold it will not curdle.
- Add the 4 teaspoons of soluble cocoa and we remove again.
Step-by-step recipe for a coconut and chocolate flan vegan.
- With the cocoa already mixed, turn off the heat. The mixture has to be liquid and very fluid, don’t worry. The agar-agar curdles when the temperature drops.
- Pour into 2 or 3 small cups or molds for flan.
- Let the molds cool down and, when they are warm, put it in the refrigerator until it acquires the creaminess and density so characteristic of a flan (gelatinous, but creamy).
- Enjoy!
