We continue with the Christmas dishes! Brussels sprouts have a very bad reputation and it’s a shame because they are a very healthy food and can be very tasty if we know how to prepare them.

Today’s recipe is a perfect garnish for any main dish, it is very healthy, quite light and its ingredients make it have a unique, special and very Christmassy flavor.



  • 225 g de coles de Bruselas (1/2 libra)
  • 4 dientes de ajo
  • 2 cucharadas de aceite de oliva virgen extra
  • El zumo de 1/2 limón
  • Sal marina y pimienta negra molida al gusto
  • 1/4 taza de nueces pecanas (30 g)
  • 2 cucharadas de sirope de agave
  • 1/4 taza de granada (40 g)


  1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC or 390ºF.
  2. Cut the cabbages in half and put them in a baking dish.
  3. Add the cloves of finely chopped garlic, oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  4. Remove and bake for about 15 minutes.
  5. Add the pecans and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes or until the cabbage and walnuts are golden brown.
  6. Remove the oven dish, add the syrup and the pomegranate, stir and we have our garnish ready to serve.
