The apple cider that I am going to teach you how to prepare in this post is not Asturian cider, but a typical recipe from the United States and Canada that is known as apple cider in English.

Every year I saw how other American bloggers prepared it and it has always caught my attention, but I hadn’t been excited until now, I didn’t know what I was missing! It is one of the richest homemade drinks I have tried, it is drunk warm and is very comforting and sweet, ideal for dark and rainy days when you want to stay at home with a warm blanket and watch a movie in good company or read a book we like

  • 2 manzanas verdes
  • 2 manzanas rojas
  • 2 manzanas amarillas
  • 1 naranja
  • 2 ramas de canela
  • 1/2 taza de sirope de arce (160 g)
  • 1 cucharadita de nuez moscada en polvo
  • 12 tazas de agua (3 litros)

  1. Wash the apples and the orange and chop them into four pieces.
  2. Put them in a pot along with the rest of the ingredients and cover them with water.
  3. Put the heat on high and when it starts to boil, cover the pot and cook over medium heat for one or two hours. If you cook it for longer it will have more flavor.
  4. After that time, strain the apple cider trying to get as much liquid or juice out of the fruit as possible.
  5. Serve the cider hot.
