I’ve wanted to make this recipe for a long time, but I didn’t know if you were going to like it, not because it’s not tasty, but because in Spain açai is not as popular as in other countries, although some of our American readers may. know more. I have decided to share it now because when we were in Edinburgh a month ago, we had an açai bowl for breakfast, I shared it through Instagram stories, I asked if you wanted the recipe and you said yes, so here it is.

Açai is a very beneficial superfood for our health: it has a high antioxidant power, it gives us a lot of energy, it strengthens our defences, it is an excellent diuretic, it helps fight constipation, among many other things.

Ingredientes

  • 2 plátanos congelados
  • 1 taza de arándanos frescos (150 g)
  • 1/3 taza de leche de almendras (85 ml)
  • 1/2 rama de vainilla (opcional)
  • 2 cucharadas de açai en polvo

Instructions

  1. Cut the bananas and put them in the freezer overnight.
  2. We split the vanilla pod lengthwise with a knife and scrape out the inside, which is what we’re going to use. Discard the outside and set aside.
  3. Place the frozen bananas, blueberries, milk, vanilla and açai powder in a blender and blend until smooth .
  4. We serve with our favorite toppings. We add blueberries, kiwi and walnuts.

Notes

* Ideally, make this recipe with frozen bananas to make it creamier, but if you want you can use fresh bananas and add less milk.
* Frozen blueberries can also be used , although in that case you may have to add a little more milk.
* The milk can be sweetened or unsweetened, whichever you prefer. You can also use any other vegetable milk.
